LOVE this place!! Highly recommend!

“My husband & I have spent the last four nights at this property.... we'll be leaving tomorrow and have already started planning our return trip! I can't say enough good things about this place... LOVED IT.

For those who haven't been to Hilton Head before - it's absolutely amazing. This was our second trip - HH will be our only "beach vacation" destination from here on out! The beaches are beautiful (beach near Night Heron is very quiet!), the island has a great natural /outdoorsy feel, and there are amazing restaurants all over the island. (Highly recommend Truffles!!) Savannah is nearby for a daytrip on a cloudy/rainy day, and today we went kayaking on Broad Creek and had several dolphins come right up to our kayaks!

The Night Heron community is great. I love the quaint feeling - reminds me of Girl Scout camp as a kid! The villas are tucked into the woods and feel isolated, even though there's plenty to do nearby. It's a shady 5 min walk to the beach, and an easy bike ride to Harbour Town shops/restaurants (sorry - didn't time it). Noise from traffic or other residents was never an issue -we fell asleep to the sound of frogs and awoke to the sound of birds singing. This villa backs up to a wooded area of trees, palmetto, and Spanish moss - fabulous view!

The property itself is great - nicely renovated with fresh paint colors, great kitchen & bathroom, nice furniture throughout, etc. Big flat screen TV's in living room and bedroom are a perk. WiFi was reliable, which was good because we're computer junkies! The living room has lots of space - we brought our dog, so it was nice to have a large space to set up his XL dog crate in the living room. Washer & dryer in the bathroom were convenient - they're small, but wash/dry quickly. The bathroom cabinet has a shelf labelled "dog drying towels," which was a nice touch! (There is also a dog bed & several dog toys included.) Two boogie boards & a skim board on the screened porch - we didn't use them, but would be great for a family with kids. Cleaning supplies are included for any quick cleanups (we love the Shark sweeper - need one for our own house!). Honestly, I can't think of anything that this house was lacking or any drawbacks that I noted.

Booking was easy through BeachBum property management, and Margot & Jim (property managers) stopped by today while they were in the neighborhood. Overall, we had a great trip and wish we didn't have to leave tomorrow!! We'll be back! ”

More Description

Hilton Head offers over twelve miles of gorgeous beach. Our home is located in the middle of the most desirable mile. The nearest public access (Forest Beach at Coligny Circle) is over a mile to the north. The nearest hotel is a mile to the south. In between those two points the majority of homes are single-family units. The multi-story villas and apartments available for rent are adjacent to Forest Beach. What all of this means is that very few people have easy access to the long, wide and beautiful section of beach in front of Night Heron. You will appreciate the privacy and available space to put your beach chair and relax. And it is only a seven-minute walk (2/10 mile) on your private path to the dunes. "Just Imagine" at Night Heron is a free standing home shaded by towering Long Needle and Loblolly Pines. All landscaping is natural with fan-like Saw Palmettos, Cabbage Palms, and native grasses with ancient Live Oaks draped with a profusion of Spanish moss.

If you want a beach-oriented vacation, please be aware that though all accommodations on Hilton Head Island have beach access available, for some locations you will have to drive to the beach. Hilton Head Island is shaped like a foot. More than 12 miles of beaches are on the 'sole' of Hilton Head Island. Most of the top of the 'foot' is marshland and beach is limited. Both areas are beautiful and hold their own charm. Beautiful sunrises occur on the beach or eastern part of the island and extraordinary sunsets can be seen on the western or top of the foot of Hilton Head Island. Uncrowded beach

Within Sea Pines, Leeward Breezes is just a short walk down a concrete path to a very uncrowded part of the beach. The beaches on Hilton Head are public, but direct access to our closest beach area is a private path within the gated community of Sea Pines. As the pictures on our listing show, there is not much crowding there. Chairs, a small cooler, beach blanket, beach umbrella, and beach towels are provided for use on the beach. Boogie boards and a skim board are also provided.

If you want to be in a more crowded beach, you can walk or drive to Sea Pines Resort beach (south) or drive to Coligny Plaza (north). See the listing pictures to see what the beach areas near us look like. You get to choose. And none of the choices are very far away. If you are not interested in the beach, there is a community pool in the Night Heron neighborhood in which Leeward Breezes is located. A picture of the pool is included in the listing pictures. The community pool is only for Night Heron.

Pet Friendly! Leeward Breezes allows pets. We rely on responsible pet owners to keep this policy in place. We try to keep our property so it acceptable to both pet owners and non pet owners. The tile floors are for the convenience of pets, pet owners, and even non-pet owners because they allow for easy cleanup of sand and silt from beach activities. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 10 AM and 5 PM from Memorial Day to September 30. This is Hilton Head's 'high season.' During the off season, well-controlled and well-behaved dogs are allowed on the beach anytime. During the entire year, dogs must be walked on a leash within Sea Pines streets and trails and owners must pick up after their pets.
